deployment & support

Figures reflect typical outcomes of warehouse-automation deployments in India — actual results depend on your operation and processes.

The problem

The challenges holding logistics back.

Every one of these quietly drains efficiency and margin — and every one has a technology answer.

Manual Warehouse Operations

Paper picking, manual counts, and forklift-heavy movement are slow, costly, and hard to scale at peak.

Inventory Errors

Miscounts and misplaced stock cause stockouts, overstock, and wrong shipments that erode customer trust.

Labour Shortages

Warehousing depends on staff that is hard to hire and retain, with turnover spiking every festive season.

Asset Tracking

Pallets, trolleys, bins, and equipment go missing across large sites, wasting time and capital.

Fleet Visibility

Once a truck leaves the dock, most operations are blind — no live location, no reliable ETA.

Delivery Delays

Bottlenecks in picking, packing, and dispatch ripple into missed SLAs and unhappy customers.

Warehouse Safety

Forklift traffic, manual handling, and congestion create injury risk and compliance exposure.

Energy Costs

Lighting, HVAC, and cold storage run around the clock — a large, largely unmonitored cost.

The answer

How Meevanta helps logistics operators.

Answers

Frequently asked questions.

What is warehouse automation?
Warehouse automation uses technology — IoT sensors, robotics, AMRs, RFID, vision, and software — to run warehouse tasks with less manual effort and more accuracy. It ranges from simply tracking inventory and assets in real time to fully automating picking, movement, and counting. You can start with one process and expand as the value proves out.
How do IoT and robotics help logistics operations?
IoT connects your racks, docks, assets, cold stores, and vehicles so you can see everything in real time, while robotics and AMRs move and handle goods faster and more consistently than manual work. Together they raise throughput, accuracy, and visibility while lowering labour, energy, and error costs.
What are Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), and how are they different from AGVs?
AMRs are self-navigating robots that move goods around a warehouse using onboard sensors and maps, avoiding people and obstacles dynamically. Unlike older AGVs that follow fixed wires or magnetic strips, AMRs need no floor infrastructure and can be redeployed easily as your layout or volumes change.
Do we have to replace our existing WMS or ERP?
No. Our solutions integrate with your existing Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP, and transport systems through open standards and APIs. We add real-time visibility and automation on top of what you run today rather than requiring a rip-and-replace.
What is the difference between RFID and barcode tracking?
Barcodes must be scanned one at a time in line of sight, while RFID tags can be read in bulk, at a distance, without direct line of sight — for example, a whole pallet passing a dock reader. Many operations use both: barcodes where they are already standard, and RFID where speed and hands-free reading add the most value.
How does cold chain monitoring work?
Wireless sensors continuously measure temperature and humidity across cold stores, reefers, and shipments, sending data to the cloud with instant alerts if readings drift out of range. Every reading is logged, giving you both real-time protection against spoilage and audit-ready records for compliance.
Can drones really count inventory indoors?
Yes. Indoor inventory drones fly programmed paths through aisles, scanning barcodes and RFID on high racking to cycle-count far faster and more safely than sending staff up on lifts. They are especially valuable in tall-racking warehouses where manual counting is slow and risky.
How accurate can inventory become?
With RFID, vision, and automated counting, inventory accuracy commonly moves from the low-to-mid 90s of manual operations to 99% and above. Higher accuracy means fewer stockouts, less overstock, fewer wrong shipments, and far less time spent searching and reconciling.
Will this work across multiple sites and our fleet?
Yes. The same platform scales from a single warehouse to a multi-site network, with GPS and telematics extending visibility to your fleet on the road. You get one connected view of warehouses, assets, and vehicles rather than disconnected islands.
How long does implementation take?
A focused deployment on one zone or process is typically live within days to a few weeks, with dashboards available shortly after installation. Larger, multi-site or fully automated programmes are phased so each stage delivers value before the next begins.
What is the return on investment?
Returns come from higher throughput, better inventory accuracy, less shrinkage, lower labour and energy cost, and fewer service failures. The right approach is to start where the cost or pain is highest — often labour, accuracy, or downtime — measure the improvement in a pilot, and scale on proven results.
Is our data secure?
Yes. Security is designed in — encrypted communication, role-based access, secure gateways, and audit logs. We treat cybersecurity as core infrastructure, so a connected warehouse and fleet is also a protected one.
Will it work in areas with weak connectivity?
Yes. Multi-protocol connectivity and edge computing capture and process data locally even during network gaps, syncing when connectivity returns — dependable across India's varied warehouse and transport conditions.
How does automation affect warehouse safety?
AMRs and robotics take on the heavy, repetitive, and congested movement that causes most warehouse injuries, and they operate with safety sensors that stop for people. Combined with real-time monitoring of traffic and conditions, automation typically improves safety rather than compromising it.
Can we start small and scale later?
Yes. Start with one warehouse, zone, or capability — such as asset tracking or a single AMR cell — prove the return, and expand to more processes and sites on the same platform. It is a start-small, scale-on-results approach that keeps risk and upfront cost low.
How do we get started?
It begins with a conversation and a warehouse survey of your goals, layout, and systems. From there we design an architecture, deploy a pilot, prove the ROI, and scale with long-term support. Book a consultation to map your logistics automation roadmap.
